DoSo Elementary – Play Along Recordings

Loog Guitar Song Book no. 1

Preface

David D. Mills has been teaching guitar for more than 40 years. He developed a concept for starting elementary students on 3-string guitars. Around the same time, Raphael Atijas came up with the design of the Loog guitar for an MBA thesis at NYU. In 2021 Hal Leonard published Loog Guitar Method with access to play-along videos, and we recommend that students begin with this book which can be purchased at a variety of online websites including www.loogguitars.com.

This song book contains a dozen songs with references to cultures from all around the world. Most songs have two Loog guitar parts, and the vocal parts are well within the range of boys and girls ages 7 – 12. Many of the songs are written with input from elementary students. There are play-along recordings available at www.DoSoMusic.org Pull down the page under the Elementary heading.

Music is a social art. Singing and strumming gives students life-long social and cognitive advantages.
